SO Scared :(

Hello All, just registered.
I have been suffering with depression for several years and due to illness (was originally on ESA Benefit) I have not been able to work for 6 years. I was a very successful person before this.
I went thru a separation/divorce and then lost everything, including my health. I managed to write to several debt collection agencies and have been paying only £5 per month to two but my problem is, it has been so long since I have set these payments up that the details shown on my account don't really tell me who/what they are paying for?
I am panicking as today, I received a letter from a company saying they are a debt purchaser and have acquired one of my debts (for an unsecured bank loan) and I now have to deal with them. I have moved several times and because of depression, just been plain too afraid to face up to dealing with anything
so I just kept making sure the payments went out of my new account every month, never really knowing what they are for or even they have paid anything off by now or not? The other odd thing is, Im not really registered at this address with anyone but the letter from the bank and from the debt purchaser came here to me?
Is there ANY way now I can find out EXACTLY what I owe and to whom through a credit report without getting myself into more trouble? I don't even know if the two payments I make each month out of my account cover this above debt, I have no idea and I am scared to contact the portfolio/debt management company.
I want to try to move back into work, come off anti-depressants and manage my debts but I do not know what to do first? My doctor says he will back-date me a fit note and tells me I should apply again for benefit as I HAVE been ill and I AM entitled to some support.
Any help and advice would be VERY welcome. Its just making me feel so much worse than I already felt.
Thanks

Hi,
You can register with Noddle (call credit) for free, this gives you free access to your credit report, however, if your debts are more than 6 years old, they wont show on your credit file.
Be aware that doing the above will alert potential creditors to your new address, you should also check Experian, and Equifax as well,(just order statutory credit report for £2) as not all creditors use just one CRA.
If you are not sure where, or to whom, the payments are going, I would register with Noddle, then stop paying these accounts, until someone writes to you, when they do write, you should respond with the "provit" letter, then they are obliged to send you details of the debt, how much you owe, and what has been paid.
