I see Lidl are doing a Polish special and are selling kefir.
I've never tried it before and was wondering whether to get a bottle to try.

Hi. I've tasted it in Belarus which is to the east of Poland, so I assume it's the same. It's a fermented milk drink. It has a consistency of between milk and yoghurt and tastes like natural yoghurt.0

theres a kefir thread, maybe someone could put a link in.
My kefir has gone mad,if anyone wants some they would be welcome to it.0 -
I grew up on kefir (we just called it sour milk then) and can testify how healthy it is, it set me up for life. It was made naturally from raw, unpasteurised unhomogenised milk.
I didn`t have any after age 16 and I am now almost 70. I bought some for my husband two years ago and he made it religiously, drinking it every day but now, as an adult, I just could not make myself drink it. I much prefer unsweetened natural yogurt. Kefir is more sour and has a kind of fizziness but there is no doubt that natural kefir is wonderfully healthy0 -
The chuckling goat kefir is very sour and not pleasant to drink. However I'm glad I drank the course, I do think it very helpful for the guts. I've also had kefir from Ocado and Sainsbury and it is just like a plain yogurt drink. I guess it's more processed.
I would love some kefir grains..... but I think I might make water kefir for a summer drinkDownshifted
