Hi All,
I've been a lurker here for a very long time, and I thought it was about time I posted something......
My partner and I have been paying a mortgage with BM for about a Year and a Half now (we are tied into a 2yr fixed deal) Last week we bought a new house - increasing or mortgage by 30k (we are putting 10 down).
We were given a prompt computer says no by BM, due to the fact my partner has only been in his job 4mths (5mths is required) ..... So now I'm on a £3777 buy out fee over to Halifax..
Does anyone know if there is anyway out of this? or is it just one of those things.... just seems pretty rubbish to me, as our incoming and outgoings are good, Plus we have been with them over a year...
Any help appreciated.
Cheers.

So by the time you actually move he will have been in his job 5 or 6 months ??
Ask your broker to have a word with BM. If the worst comes to the worst you could always delay applying for a month. BM can move fairly swiftly with getting offers out so that may not be as bad as it sounds.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. My Broker has set up a new mortgage in the mean time with Halifax. And has advised us to Try BM again next month....... so we do have that option, just wondering if I could do anything else. Maybe I am just panicking about it!0

sounds like good advice from your broker. I don't think there is much else you can do other than try not to worry too much!!I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Check again to see if your broker can do anything about this charge because Birmingham Midshires is actually owned by the Halifax.0
