PPI - lost original paperwork from loan

I've lost the original paper work and account details for a loan with single premium policy. Is it essential for a claim? Can i contact the lender and use their copies?

  • I would have thought so. You will need to ask the bank for any necessary reference or account numbers.

As long as you have the account number in many cases the lender is obliged to provide you with a copy by law. It may cost you a £1 but you can insist.
