Hi I was hoping someone could help me

I purchased my car just over a year ago and ive had nothing but problems with it. Its all been fixed under warranty all well and good but I have lost all faith in it as I feel I cant trust it because there seems to be new faults every month. Ive complained to finance company twice had two insoections but case was closed as they say its nkrmal for a second hand car. My warranrt ran out around two weeks ago 5 days later it developed a clutch fault but garage fixed it out of good will.
Anyway as I say I dont want this car anymore im oaying alot of money for it and seeing as I rely on it I know its going to let me down and I wont be abke to repair it. Im in the middle of writing to the ombudsman about it and I thought id ask here if there is anything else I can do? The dealer offered me 2000 less to buy it back but I can't afford that either any help will be appreciated
Thanks

What sort of finance is it?

If they aren't finding anything wrong with it, you might have to take the hit and buy something cheaper.

You don't have a car finance problem. You entered into a deal with a finance company that they would lend you money to buy a car and in return you would repay them. They have evidently done that and you need to maintain your side of the deal.

What you have is a car problem. You made a deal with the garage to but a car that you expected to be reliable. You don't think that they have done so. You need to take this up with the garage.

You are confusing the two things, understandably because to your mind its all just under the heading 'car'.

If your house developed a leaky roof would you stop paying your mortgage?

If you want rid of this car try to sell it privately. It may well be that you get enough to settle the finance or have a small shortfall to make up. I do understand that it really sucks when you end up with an unreliable car, but this will not negate your credit agreement for the reasons i have explained.

  • I once had a car which I bought new (a Ford Sierra 2L GL) in 1987 which was just a heap of trouble, back and forward to the dealer, for everything from paintwork problems to drive problems. It took almost 12 months before it settled down and became a reliable car.

I did at one time want to get rid of it, but I kept at it and eventually it became a very reliable and comfortable vehicle.

If you have a HP agreement, then you can return the vehicle once you've paid half the total balance, or if it's a personal loan, you can sell it at any time, but you will have to take any hit in the pocket.

How long have you had the car? You say the warranty has expired so you must have had it for some time. I'm afraid if you have 'lost confidence in the car' then that is in your mind and you will have to do what you think fit. Either sell it or keep it. Nobody else can guide you on that.

why not contact the manufacture if the dealer cant find the fault?
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.
