    Hello!

I have only just started my DMP so not claiming to be experienced but I have read through all the threads on DMP and I would say that this is Barclays just selling your debt on. In order to sell it on they have to default you, that is my understanding anyway. I spoke to Barclays recently as they are my largest creditor and they confirmed they never take anyone to court, its not worth it. So my thoughts are that this is a standard letter and nothing for you to worry about :-)

A few of us have had this letter in the past week. At first I was like OMG, but I realised this is a good thing as Barclaycard aren't great at defaulting so the sooner it happens the better :)

Standard procedure on behalf of the creditor, if they can't be bothered to service your account any longer they sell the debt on to a DCA, in order to do this, they must, by law, send you a default notice, to give you an opportunity to bring your account up to date.

Obviously this is not possible, so your account will be sold, the DCA that picks it up will be in touch soon, you just refer them to stepchange, and everything goes on as before.
