Engagement gift ideas

My daughter and her lovely boyfriend got engaged on Monday :T
We are currently on holiday and they are at our home, and so I have sent cards etc.
Now thinking about a gift for them - we got a few 'bottom draw' gifts when we became engaged 24 years since.
Their situation is that they are both students, and were moving in to their own home anyway in September, and so they have all the usual stuff for their house already. They are in to the 'quirky'.
I'd love to hear any suggestions for a suitable gift for them....
I suppose we could always give cash, but I'd like to give them something to 'open'.
Thanks in advance.

For 'quirky', I would go straight to notonthehighstreet.com - they have loads of really lovely ideas that can be personalised - a few off the top of my head:

Our best man bought us a framed picture with 4 hearts in it. The four hearts were made up of our names, villages where we grew up, words such as "love", "marriage" and our interests. It's my favourite present. My debt free diary

We got some random stuff when we got engaged - a cheeseboard with our names on, a bird bath with 2 little birds on the side, and a board game amongst other things. All entirely suitable, and nicely thought out! It's definitely the thought that matters. In what sense, quirky? What about decorative things for the house?0
