Hi!

I was just wondering whether anyone has used their service and whether it is/was worth it? I want to start my own business and came across this company....Apparently its not a franchise and there are bigger commissions awarded per property sold/let but there must be a catch in order to use their brand??

You may well get a large percentage of the commission on what you sell, but if you don't sell anything in any month, you don't get paid, and I would wager there's a monthly fee payable every month to Optimhome ... So you start every month with an operating loss to the tune of this monthly fee.

Have you googled the name? First page of results I got, there's an 'interesting' discussion on propertytribes. As someone points out there, if you build your own business, when you leave it, you have something to sell. If you leave Otimhome after a while, you have nothing that's sellable.

You'll be 'the agent', so there's no escaping the fact that you will be on call, seven days a week, for the whole working day, and probably evenings too. You won't be able to take a holiday. When you stop, your business stops, unless you can miraculously generate enough commission, straight out of the starting gate, to hire assistance.

Other agents within the organisation will not be there to help you. They'll be competing with you to maximise their own commission.

Ignore the projected income on their website. Calculate what you'll get based on average prices and average commissions in your area, then bargain on getting less than that.

Thanks for your response! It has made it more clear and quite frankly, I am more certain not to proceed any further with this company! In theory, its a win win situation for Optim Home if i sell properties or not so you are right....not really worth it in the long run!
