This was in Mr T. There were loads of things priced like this. I asked about it and was told it was a printers error.
Same with buy one get one free. In some stores it is dearer than the normal price so you were worse off.
I even work out prices per 100g etc as it is often the case that something is not cheaper if you buy a large packet. Cheese I bought at the weekend was £4.42 a kilo. I bought a 350g packet because when I looked at the 1kg pack for the same cheese it was £4.99
As for the twiddly bits of paper offering you X pence off your next visit that is just plain irritating. My shopping bags are full of them because they expire before you can go back to the shop again.
Who can eat 2 melons in a week if they live on their own. The price should be halved, and those who can eat twice as much can buy twice as much and it won't be wasted. I don't shop in a supermarket for the bargains and just look for good value for money. I only got caught out because I decided to have a picnic in the park as part of a time killing exercise a long way from home. The sandwiches were worse than the ones at a Motorway service station.
Now it's 2 for £2 (or £1.35 each.) They also had Cola for 2 for £3; now they are £1 each!
Almost all the time if there is a product at 98p and 2 for £2 it is becuase there are other items in the offer that are more than £1 each, so you could get one 98p item and one £1.12 item and save 10p. If you buy two 98p items you pay £1.96, the promotion will only discount prices, not increase them.
You seem to be saying that supermarkets should be set up so they work the way YOU want them to. That is never going to happen. They are businesses designed to make money and get people coming back and spending a bit more very week ( Hence the X pence off if you spend £Y pounds in the next 7 days )
Your "global online forum", eh?
Sainsburys must have been quaking in their boots :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Maybe they'll realise the error of their ways when they find out about his global online forum. They'll rue the day they put those melons on a multibuy!!!
Never had a problem with the sandwiches from Sainsburys, I see loads of customers keep on going back for the meal deal so cant be that bad.
Did you check the bottle of Sprite was even included in the offer ?
Im confused as you say " you bought a meal deal but then say "you didn't want to comply with the deal " so which is it ?
If you have a freezer then take advantage of all the bogofs - why not? My freezer is my friend for saving money. I cook to store in my freezer and eat the produce in there over 2-3 weeks.
