Hi there everyone
I've been a lurker on this board for quite some time & I have even posted a couple of times before but have never managed to keep it up.
Well, I have finally decided that I want to get rid of this debt for us once & for all & then we can begin to finally live debt free :T
We are a family of four with two young kiddiewinks, so I'm hoping to get rid of all our unsecured debt before our youngest starts full time school in Sept 2016. So just 14 months to go!
We have found ourselves in a better financial position since my hubby was promoted at work, so this stands us in good stead to pay this debt off.
Our debts are -
Virgin CC £10100 (0% until March 2017)
Tesco CC £4900 (0% until Dec 2016)
My plan is to have a direct debit set up for the minimum payment for them both & then I can go online to pay extra off when I want to.
We are really focused on getting this paid off (I've finally got the hubby on board) and my plan is to use this diary to document our progress along the way.
So.......here goes!! :T

Thanks for the welcome Money on my mind.
I'm feeling soooooo focused. I've even made a plan of how much to pay each month, so at least I've got something to work to!0 -
So glad that I've started this diary, even if it's just for my own future reference, it's good to be able to look back at the progress you've made, hopefully in a years time I can look back & all the debt will be gone
Being in debt is such a scary experience, especially that we only have one wage coming in, so if anything happened to my hubby's job, I don't know what we'd do. The mortgage is covered for 12 months, so if we can get out of debt, it takes the weight off a bit.
Last day tomorrow before the school holidays, I'm gonna look for some inexpensive things to do with the kiddies so there's a bit more to overpay0 -
Hi RosieD
Take a look at the payment a day thread on the debt free wannabe challenges board.
It's a great way to stay focused on doing those extra payments, plus we're a right friendly bunch
Hope to see you there, and good luck with your debt free challengeA Payment A Day keeps the debts at bay
