DIP... now what?

We are looking to buy a new build home on the equity scheme so our monthly repayments are the same as our current rental payments.

We heard on Monday that we have a DIP from Halifax, but now we need to sit down and go through the application process with our bank statements etc on Saturday with the broker.

I'm a little nervous as I don't know what to expect? We weren't planning on going ahead with buying so quickly (we get marred in January and had decided to stay in the current house for another year!) but it's all working out nicely with timing for the completion of the new build etc. However, a couple of weeks ago I deposited into a a couple of bingo sites to get cashback from Quidco (only cashback, don't intend to continue depositing and gambling) so I'm worried that this will have a negative impact as it's on my bank statement! Also I've had a lot of money moving between accounts and little payments going out for deposits for wedding bits.

Can anyone give me some sort of reassurance? Or do we just have to keep our fingers and toes firmly crossed?!

    Do you have any debt?

Are you ever in your over draft?

Small payments to gambling sites won't have any real affect providing the rest of your accounts are in order.
  • Not in overdraft, I don't have one. We have debt between us but we pay it all regularly and aren't late etc. We already passed affordability and the credit check for DIP.

Thanks :) It's made me feel a little better!
