Keep returning here to keep my momentum up. Been eBay and FB selling, using cash4clothes, taking rubbish to the tip trying to cleanse life in general as well as pay off these debts.

Since the last SOA, Simply Be debt has gone, the RBS overdraft is down from 180 to 59.08 and Next is down from 570 to 526. We may have more funds available in the next few days to get them cut further. On 1st Sept I'm going to post a new SOA.

To be honest, every day I've just skimmed my bank account of the random pounds and pence and transferred it to RBS, and it's made a difference. I've joined the payment a day challenge to keep that up.

    Thank you x

Have made over £100 in payments to debt today, so Next is now at £421 and RBS at £54. Still waiting for a payment from Amazon for selling some books, and from someone via a FB selling group.

My first nephew was born yesterday, we need to get him a gift but am going to use a Next voucher we already have so not spending more. Excited to see him!

Ooh I haven't updated in a while! Will update properly over the weekend, but I have paid off Next and Simply Be totally and am now working on the Barclaycard. I have been selling loads of stuff and joined the 'payment a day' DFW challenge which has really helped. The snowball calculator now says I should be debt free by August 2016 instead of November! Woop!

    Ok,

So giving myself a 'financial review' today. Have definitely made efforts to pay off debts, so now stands at:

Royal Bank of Scotland arranged overdraft: £180 NOW NIL (limit £200, get charged £6 per month for being in this)
Geoffrey Leaver Solicitor (Open Uni debt that has defualted): £496.37. Had to agree to pay £50 per month. NOW £346.37
Santander arranged overdraft: £1400 (use this as current account, get charged around £30 per month for being in this) STILL £1400
    Next account: £570 NOW NIL
Simply Be account: £85 NOW NIL
Tesco credit card: £3171 (£5000 limit, 16.9% interest) NOW £3126.88
Barclaycard credit card: £3393 (£3500 limit, 0% on the balance transfer of £1000 for another 20 months, 18.9% on purchases) NOW £3279.56

    Total £8152.81 (a reduction of £942.56 since 14 July)

On top of this, we currently have some savings. I KNOW it's not financial sense to do this when we have outstanding debt, but it's joint savings and it psychologically helps if I know we have some kind of savings too.

Post Office ISA - £2300 locked away for two years
Post Office instant access ISA - £100
OH savings account (car fund) - £300
Emergency fund in RBS account - £31.44

Total: £2731.44 (an increase of £2731.44 since 14 July)

OH has to save for a car, as we have loaned his mums and we may have to give this back without notice at any point.
