in Gone off!
Have just realised that (a) all my soft fruit is coming into season (and more to come) so I will be doing much more baking over the next month or so, and (b) the Great British Bake Off is about to come back on the TV ! So my question is: do prices of baking ingredients go UP or DOWN whilst the programme is on? I can't believe that it has no effect at all (with such a huge audience for it). So, do I rush out and stock up now, or do I wait for the cut price offers ??
Anyone know?

I can't say I've noticed a big change in prices in the past - I'd have thought there might be some more offers for baking stuff when the show is on. The only thing that I have noticed is that there's a much bigger range of baking stuff available now in the supermarkets.0

you should be able to use https://www.mysupermarket.co.uk to look at price movements of items you are interested in ?0

Certain stuff most probably. The more an item sells in a short time or if there is considerable movement in a products sales, the more chance it has of being put up in price. That's how capitalism works which is why most people are poor.0

There will be bigger price movements caused the price of the £ against the euro and dollar etc.
How the harvest went as well.
These are far bigger factors than the GBB.
At most you may get a offer on some items used on the program.0 -
Main impact unlikely to be on price but on availability should someone spark a run on a particular ingredient - think Nigella and Goose Fat.
If anything we are coming towards the part of year where baking offers increase as when September rolls around it is time for Christmas to be bombarded down our throats.0 -
usually after a cooking program has been shown there are reports of a couple 100% rise in certain products , i remember various Delia & Nigella programs spreading countrywide panics on people rushing out to buy certain things"If I know I'm going crazy, I must not be insane"0
