Power NI Bill question - am I being done?

Hi
I'm just going over my last electric bill from Power NI and I'm a bit confused. I just want to double check if I'm getting done or not.
Apologies for all the figures below if they don't make sense.
The balance from the bill prior to this one was showing as £259.16 in credit.
Between the last bill and this one, with direct debits, I was in credit for £511.16.
The bill for this period was £142.50 + £7.12 VAT = £149.62.
They then added on the credit from the previous bill making £408.78 (£149.62 + £259.16).
They've taken the £408.78 from the £511.16 leaving me now in credit for £102.38.
My question is, why are they adding the credit from the previous bill to the charge for this one?
In my head, I should now be in credit for £361.54 (£511.16 in credit minus the charge of £149.62).
Am I wrong?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Brendan

It's pretty difficult to comment without seeing the actual bill. In any event, you are paying too much up front each quarter, so give Power NI a ring and ask them to explain the bill and also reduce your monthly/quarterly payments.0

Hi
Unfortunately the forum won't allow me to post a link to an image of the bill as it say's that I'm a new user and to prevent spam.
I did get a letter from PowerNI between the bill periods stating that they were reducing my monthly direct debits by half.
I just cant make sense of why a previous credit would be added to the bill rather than deducted.

Have they maybe actually issued you a refund for the credit balance? They can do this if you build up too much credit, so check you bank to see if it's appeared in your account. You should get notification but it may arrive a few days after they do itNorn Iron Club Member No. 252 :beer:0
