AE Scheme Recommendation

Hello,

My small company has a November 2016 staging date. I have around 6 to 7 employees including myself as the sole director.

Does anyone have any experience or advice to offer in respect of choosing the pension scheme provider, that is to say is any company consistently out performing / standing out from the others?

Thank you

Most of the companies wont be interested in terms for 6-7 companies. So, you will be limited to the likes of NEST or the Peoples pension. Both of whom do a perfectly good job and are ideal for small employers.

  • Thanks Dunstonh & Xylophone for your succinct answer which point me in the right direction and I suspect save me some time. As an aside the nowpensions web site is a really nice bit of design, clean and simple
  • Having staged numerous employers over the last 2 years, I can safely say that NOW:Pensions has been our worst experience of pension companies over the last decade. An absolute shambles. They even reported themselves to TPR.

For us it's a matter of what is most compatible with Sage Payroll, we have found that NEST seems to be our favourite so far from an administrative point of view.

Now Pensions seems to be a bit of a nightmare with the contribution schedules needing work to be done on them after the reports are generated for upload.

We haven't yet delved too much into Royal London or People's Pension so much so couldn't give a response.
  • Hi sorry to hear that Now have been such a pain! I have only had good experiances, from dealing with 150 man schemes to a little church I auto enrolled (they bought their staging date forward only 3 employees). I have had huge issues with both NEST and Peoples pension. Have you thought about looking at an IFA? Although it may cost you some £££ it does take all the hassle and worry away from you.
