Birthday Presents For An Aussie! Please Help!

Ok so it's my Aussie friends birthday soon and as he is living over here in the UK I wanted to make him up a little gift basket of Aussie things as kind of home comforts.

I really need help as I don't know the first thing about what an Aussie would like. He has quite a sweet tooth so what biscuits can I get that would be appreciated by a home sick Aussie? I heard Tim Tams are good? Are there anymore? Also what else could i put in there to make it really special. Any ideas on how to wrap it to would be great. I'm really looking for help with the whole idea lol.

Thank you in advance for all your help xxx

    Cherry Ripe...yum...
    Violet Crumble.
    Milo
    Minties

Not sweet but just as nice...savoury
    Shapes
    Vegemite of course
    Sakata

There's loads of Aussie food items it's just a matter of finding them in the UK at a reasonable price.
    :footie:
:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p

I did an Australian hamper for someone a couple of years ago - I got all the stuff delivered from Sanza.

It is quite expensive though so maybe you could bulk it out by putting the UK equivalents of the items in as well? (Tim Tams and Penguins, Caramello Koala and Freddo bars etc.) it might start a debate on which version is better though!

You can buy Burger Rings (yum) from Tesco too :D
  • Oh this is awesome! Thanks anything else thats particularly Aussie I can put in his hamper? xxx

You could bake him some Lamingtons - essentially sponge cake rolled in coconut. Recipe here :
