Paid off sick

Just a quiery

I have started a job ( well training) in which i completed and got paid for.I then were awaiting rest of my checks to go through before i have a start date which now has come and completed and to start work on Monday.

Unfortunatly over the weekend i have broke my leg.Question is do i get sick pay for the time i am off seing as i were meant to start on monday but not started but have done my training in which i got paid for, or will i just be off unpaid til i am fit enough to start and then get paid?

Thanks in advance

Assuming you earn enough to pay National Insurance, I believe your employer has to pay you SSP, but anything more than that would depend on the contract.

If your GP is willing to give you a fit note for light duties, is there anything else you could do?
