hi everyone I have been quoted £4500 for a 6 on the back of house and 2 on the side., of SunEdison 280w Solar PV modules linked to Enphase micro inverters as can't fit no more., is this value for money or is there better out there say 330 panels but what do I do about the 6x2 split
thanks matt

someone said to use Solar Edge inverter / optimisers instead of the EnPhase micro inverter system because the micro inverters are only rated to 250W each, meaning you put a 285W panel onto it, the extra is wasted.is this correct???0

With the small space available, I would be looking for higher wattage panels (at a reasonable price) to give the largest system possible.
I think Enphase do a micro inverter that work with panels up to 285w.
SolarEdge is also as you mention a possible option.0 -
Hiya Matt, and welcome. Can you give a bit more detail about your house, and if there are any other options. Smaller systems cost more proportionately, but £4.5k seems a little high.
Panels rarely produce more than 90% of their rating for long, as they got hot. So a 285Wp panel at 90% wouldn't be too bad on those micros.
SolarEdge is certainly an option as they have power optimisers that go to higher wattages.
330Wp panels will probably add about £100 each, but for a small system it might be worth the extra cost.
Have you worked out generation and income, as this might not be a very good return on investment.I think you'd need to get the price down to £3.5k, or £4k with 330's.
