Not sure whether this is the best place to post, but why not?
I work in a public library and the Summer Reading Challenge has started this week. It is a national initiative, but how it is managed will differ from county to county, but essentially children read books across the summer holidays and in return are rewarded with posters, stickers and if they get to the end a certificate and a medal. Some also have other give aways like wristbands. There's also an app and a website to support the challenge.
While its purpose is to keep children reading across the holiday, they really enjoy it and love collecting the stickers and bits and bobs as the challenge continues.
Find out more about the national scheme here:

If you're children join up on or before 13th July, they may even be able to participate in the world record attempt. You can also find out more from your local libraries website.
