I have written to creditors both joint and single as me and hubby are tackling this together. However when it comes to I and E statements do I just do one joint one for our household including all the debts whoever's name they're in? Or do I do one for each of us when dealing with single creditors. Also do you put the actual names of all your creditors or just call them "credit card 1" "credit card 2" etc? Are creditors actually going to see who all yu owe money to and how much? Although thinking about it they can find that out from credit search anyway I suppose...sorry newbie questions! With thanksTravelling hopefully 🏃0

we posted our forms off to sc and our first payment will come out to them on 1st march,
we havent got an emergency fund as such. we had last month 'off' so to speak so stashed some cash that way.
with our budget we should be able to save each week anyway- all going well!
thanks for all the help from here xStarted comping October 2011, no wins as of yet. Would really love to win a short uk break so we can take the children awayThank you to everyone who takes the times to post competitions and good luck:j

Hi all,
Had a response from SC regarding the F&F we did with one of our creditors. They have said we should talk to them if we have any spare money as the creditors may end the DMP and ask for more money as we are prioritising one debt. We did write to them all and only one accepted, plus the person offering to help is on the grounds we clear a debt, not spread it over everyone. Just wondering if anyone has had such a response from SC. We are looking at writing to the others as the family have offered more help solely on the same grounds above, not the way SC want us to proceed. Any advise gratefully received.
Thanks0 -

Look, a DCA gets all it deserves, I'm not saying that. But a debt with the original company, who have not even slightly hassled you, defaulted and don't charge any interest, why should they not get their money back?
I guess it all depends on your moral compass these days? I borrowed it, I spent it, I am paying it back. Those with DCA's will eventually get F&F and will likely make money out of me, but they will get it.
My moral compass was definitely on the same side as blisteringblue's, we borrowed it, we wanted to pay it back, every single penny. I never tried for CCAs or full/partial final settlements, it just didn't feel right for us.
Where I did fight tooth and nail was to get every single penny of interest stopped and would not rest until that had happened, Stepchange couldn't/wouldn't fight it, so we went self managed and I got it all stopped. I really can't understand when people say oh well they have lowered the interest so I'll settle for that.
We all are different and we all take differing paths, what feels right for one won't for another, just as long as we all get debt free in the end, that will do.

Hi All,
Not been on for a few days so just catching up. My one main creditor who replied to my first letter wanting me to complete an I and E statement has replied to my second letter (where I reiterated that I am working with SC and they will send the relevant figures, in due course) asking for an I and E statement (again!!) until they can accept the token payments.

Just let them stew, sc will be in touch with them in due course.

Ok thanks. They keep calling too. Do I just say the same to them on the phone?DMP Started June 20160 -

I would send them a recorded delivery letter advising that all communication must be in writing and that you do not give them permission to contact you by telephone to discuss this account. Advise that you will always respond promptly to any written communication.
Advise that you are working with Stepchange and they will contact them in due course with I&E information.
That's it. Then either block their number on your phone or make a note of it and don't answer...if they phone after they have received your letter you will have grounds for complaint.DFW Nerd No. 1484 LBM 07/01/15 Debt was £95k  Now debt free and happy :j0 -

No experience of this situation with SC - but this is an excellent example of why people move to self-managed.DFW Nerd No. 1484 LBM 07/01/15 Debt was £95k  Now debt free and happy :j0 -
