Updated SOA help needed

Hi all I used to be on the board as DramaQueen29 but somethings happened with logging in.,

Anyway my OH is in full time work and good pay and ive just lost my temp job , it was horrible there and to cut it short i complained to my agency who told the company who got rid!

Anyway it now leaves us extremely short, it shouldnt but OH has a Diners card and of course it has to be paid each month in full but this month because he thought i would have wages its £961! now we are both having a fit

anyway bills are getting out of control, BT keep putting thier up and others refuse to reduce so heres an SOA any ideas greatful, I have put in place well advised lol a strict reduction in food/drink costs etc so Ill mark down what Ive already reduced .

Income £2100 pm (might be a little more but its his first month bonus so not 100% sure)

Outgoings
rent 825.00pm
HPI vehicle 205.82 pm
Council tax 176.00pm i asked if they could do anything to help
reduce this but i got a short sharp deffinately
not , otherwise they would go to court!
Water 78.00pm i think this is disgusting but only way of
reducing in this area is meter and we
cant as we rent.

gas/electric ? they made a mess switching to our
new address , unknown cost

pets 20.00pm

food & household 240.00pm (this has been going on diners hence
problem budget)

petrol 300.00pm (again on diners at minute)

ccj 10.00pm

previous council
overpayment 20.00pm

cccs 28.00pm
insurance 109.00pm (car bike and pet)
rac 9.08pm (cars really old needed as breaks )

phone 40.00pm (should be £40 a 1/4 and we rarely use but arguing with bt at moment)

internet 43.00 pm (again should onyl be 29.99 arguing with bt)

sky 25.00pm

mobile 36.00pm exc calls (OH )

total 2376.00pm (ish)

as you can see a big problem also replace this months food and petrol with £961 card bill !!
I thought about trying to pay part of the diners but its his work card so he cant not pay it and also they say 30 days max to pay the full amount.
I really do despair, ive got nothing else to sell and those bits i have are fetching pathetic amounts on fleabay.

Any help appreciated.

First off, is that a CCCS I spy there, is it a DMP, if so whos name is it on. Taking on extra debt can be the tumbling of a DMP, it can all come crashing down.

Ok, well on wards and upwards. :)

As you dont know what his income is then you sohuld be looking at the bare minimums. What is that?

You dont need sky so Id seriously get rid of that right now.
Your insurances also look high, have you shopped around recently?
I woudl say your food is also high, if you are only shoping for 2?
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

its my dmp not his lol

Ive gone on the £60 a week and i dont think we need that but its difficult convincing a man that he cant spend what hes earnt, especially now ive lost my job and £1000 month income down. We were spending a lot more but i think ive got him to get his head around that bit. insurance is for the hp bike cheapest we can get at £38 a month , our car is on its last legs because its old its £38 a month too, havent found cheaper i guess we could go third party only and the pets is £29 thought about cancelling this but thats when things go wrong.
As to sky i know what you mean and thats all im saying lol
ooo ive forgotten the tv licence of £11.00 a month oops!

    Hi and welcome back,

I know you said that you were posting before so you obviously had a part lightbulb moment but to me you havent had your blown LBM as yet.

It is very difficult to get out of debt if you still continue to use credit to live on. Is your Husband also wanting to get rid of the debt or is he still happy to be living using the diners card? It will take efforts from both of you if you are going to tackle your debt.

If you seriously want to get this sorted and start making headway then I think you need to get down to basics and budget your money so you know exactly how much you need to spend each month and look at cutting your costs to fit it. If you cannot afford to make a payment to a creditor for the minimum payment becasue you have essential household bills and priority debts then they will have to wait for it.

I sorry if my post comes across a little harsh and I dont mean this is nasty way but If you really want it then you need to change your spending on the Diners Card as you are defeating the object.

From your SOA I could not see the total amount of your debt or what cards APR/Balances you have so its hard to advise the best route of action. What I would say is that depending on the level of your debts you need to make some cuts

Broadband - £43 is way to much these days. I am a real Internet addict but have cut my connection down to 2MB service and this is more than ample for most users. I still get unlimited bandwidth for £18 a month and I know theres better deals out there at the moment. Take a look on the Phones forum for advice on the best deals.

Sky - Can you get rid of the subscription and pay the one of fee where you get the basic Sky package kinda like Freeview but with a lot more channels. you keep the same dish but this subscription is a luxury.

Insurance - Have ytou checked that you have the best possible rates at the moment. Again look at the comparision sites.

Any money that come be saved even if its by a few pounds a month will soon add up over the year as long as the money is used against the debts as otherwise it just disapears.

Wish you the best of luck ;)

Any chance of you getting more work elsewhere? Another temping agency maybe? I know this may not help you this month but may ease the situation for next month;)
Also why is the water so high where you live? Would a car boot sale be a better idea than ebay if your items are low value?
Would you be able to cope with jut the bike or the car rather than both?
I know these suggestions may not help but am just trying to think of alternatives;) Good luck x

Can you switch your phone and broadband to Talk Talk. We've just done this and I think its just been lowered to £20 per month. We've also barred the use of calling mobile phones as this is where our expensive bills came from (having 2 teenagers always on the phone!).

Unless you are in arrears with either council tax or water they can be paid over 12 months and not 10.

I pay my council tax that way.

You need to get registered with other agencies as they pay weekly not monthly.

    All the best.
