20% off code in the Codes section - not sure if it's first purchase-only.

One for you makeup lovers. I'm a bit of a beauty junkie, but also can't resist a bargain (the only luxury I splash out on is YSL Touche Eclat) :)

Moving on from MUA (I have the Undressed palette and many others, a few Matte lipsticks, a coral regular MUA lipstick, various eyeliners/lipliners, primers) - which has some great products, I've been trying out Makeup Revolution and impressed so far.

In the last month or so they've started a sister site, Freedom Makeup, which seems to sell kits/sets (bundle offers), and single items, catering more for wannabe makeup artists/students. But anyone can order if they wish.

They have an offer on currently, till Monday: Spend £25, Get £25 Worth Of Products (Primer, 6 x Pro Lipsticks, Bronzer, 2 x Pro Blush, Pro Blush & Highlight Palette Peach Spice, 3 x Pro Eyeshadows, 1 x Pro Line)

Blurb here: "Offer ends 4pm BST Monday 13th July. Free products will be added to the Cart automatically when the basket is £25 (GBP or equivalent) excluding any other promotional discounts and shipping costs. Value of gift £25.50. Includes Freedom Pro Mattify Primer, 6 Pro Lipsticks, Bronzer, 2 x Pro Blush, Pro Blush & Highlight Palette Peach Spice, 3 x Pro Eyeshadows, 1 x Pro Line. Shades may vary. Subject to availability. Offer available on www.freedommakeuplondon.com"

Standard UK Delivery including Tracking £2.95. Free tracked shipping on orders over £30. There's also a 20% off code which I will put in the codes section, which would potentially take your £25 down to £20 + £2.95 P&P.

This is the best summing-up of Freedom Makeup I've seen so far (not my blog!) http://boxbraidsandbeauty.blogspot.co.uk/2015/06/freedom-makeup-london-haul-affordable.html

So annoying how the new forum layout displays a wonky ratio when I add "wide" pictures!! Had to edit my first post as a lot of the text wasn't viewable.

I did a bit of rooting around last night, trying to find a direct comparison between Makeup Revolution products and Freedom. Many reviewers express disappointment at how similar their ranges are - whether they are like-for-like or different formulations remains to be seen.

I'm guessing as Freedom Makeup is so new there's not a lot of chatter about them yet (as far as comparing them to their sister company goes).

Mentioned numerous times was the suggestion to buy the MUR Fixing Spray (£5 for 100ml) http://www.makeuprevolutionstore.com/index.php/pro-fix-makeup-fixing-spray-100ml.html versus the Freedom Fixing Spray (£3.50 for 50ml - Post #1's Youtube review, embedded in the blog link, reviews it) http://www.freedommakeuplondon.com/pro-fixing-spray.html

Ingredients are identical apparently (here: http://www.beautycrowd.com/products/freedom-pro-fixing-spray).

Freedom Pro Conceal Palette Light/Medium, £5 is apparently a dupe of MAC Studio Conceal & Correct http://www.freedommakeuplondon.com/pro-conceal-palette-light-medium.html
The MAC version is £35 http://www.maccosmetics.co.uk/product/157/23771/Products/Face/Concealer/PRO-Conceal-and-Correct-PaletteLight/index.tmpl

There's also a Tone & Illuminator Concealer here for £5, called Pro Correct http://www.freedommakeuplondon.com/pro-correct-palette.html

Freedom don't stock brushes yet (not sure if they will - Makeup Revolution do). They also don't have a bigger Matte Palette (MUR's is called Flawless Mattes and has 32 shades) - Freedom have a smaller 12-shade one called Audacious Mattes http://www.freedommakeuplondon.com/pro-12-audacious-mattes.html )
  • Wow, so much info! Thank you LouLou!

Where did you read that the Pro Conceal palette is a Mac dupe?
Have you used any of their products yet?
I wonder why people are advising to go for the MUR fixing spray instead, if the ingredients are exactly the same?

I'd love to try their foundation (at £2 a pop it'd be amazing value if potentially it performs well?), but with dry skin and it being matte, it probably wouldn't work well for me.

No, haven't tried Freedom Makeup yet - bought a few Makeup Revolution items not long ago (mainly for my niece - MUR had a promo recently too). Still have a lot of Makeup Academy things in my makeup case so I'm late to the MUR party!

A few beauty bloggers have commented about the Freedom MAC dupe, but haven't reviewed/swatched them side-by-side yet, I'm sure that will happen soon.

Best to buy the MUR Fixing Spray because of simple arithmetic - MUR Fixing Spray (£5 for 100ml) vs Freedom Fixing Spray (£3.50 for 50ml) means the MUR option works out cheaper :p

I did see Dyna on Youtube reviewing the Freedom Pro-Matte Foundation and she HATED it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dx0flTuWzjI

Today I'm wearing Makeup Revolution "Atomic" lipstick (Make Me Magnificent) - a lavender colour I thought wouldn't suit me - surprised how much I love it. Got a bundle of 5 for £4 (niece will get the rest - avoided the Atomic Serpent (Green!) and added 2 of one colour, the promo still works).

I have a gripe about Makeup Revolution and Freedom Makeup not stocking loose powder (my holy grail product) - currently using Coty Airspun in Translucent (but wow, it has an awful fragrance!!) It's no big problem though as I find NYC Loose Powder Translucent suits me - many loose powders go "orange" on my Scottish peely-wally complexion.

Wahoo! My order came to £19.35 with the code. When I ordered in the wee small hours, my basket total was a bit more than £25, but maybe because I had a bundle (Pro Melts collection, same as you) it took more off? Dunno!

I also ordered Audacious Mattes palette. Can't wait to try it all out!

I ordered and saved £5.80 with the discount and got the freebie.

And now as my dad use to say I can look like a clown :rotfl:

So thanks again. I do use the revolution brand eye shadows so know the brand.

Here's some reviews for those on the fence - Freedom Makeup Pro Conceal & Correct Palette in Light http://www.missmakeupmagpie.com/2015/06/freedom-makeup-pro-conceal-and-correct-palette.html and http://buttonnailslovesmakeup.com/2015/06/15/freedom-makeup-london-pro-conceal-correct-palette-5-review/

Pro Conceal & Correct (corrector palette) https://shaunajb.wordpress.com/2015/07/10/freedom-makeup-pro-correct-palette-swatches-and-review/

Quite a few are raving about the Freedom/MAC Conceal & Correct dupes.

Eyeshadow Palettes: http://www.beautycrowd.com/products/freedom-pro-12-eyeshadow-palettes (click on Customer Reviews) ...the review about Audacious Mattes looks promising, the other for Stunning Smokes, not so much. This reviewer absolutely adores Stunning Smokes and Romance & Jewels, to confuse matters! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EtlAqwlN6Tw

Pro 12 Romance & Jewels (quite fancy this, very foily and metallic, seen a few rave reviews) http://www.jordanalice.co.uk/2015/06/freedom-makeup-pro-12-eyeshadow-palette.html
"I loved the obvious similarity to the NARSissist Dual-Intensity Eyeshadow Palette, but if I'm honest, it was the mix of different shades that drew me in. The shades are extremely soft, blend effortlessly and have no fall out. I never expected to say this, but I already prefer these eyeshadows to my Makeup Revolution ones. They feel much more luxurious."

From what I can gather reading and watching Youtube, Freedom lipsticks are reckoned to be waxy. The verdict is they can be hit and miss, a bit like Makeup Revolution's (surprised, as I thought MUR's lipsticks got unanimous praise).

A review here comments that the nail varnishes are a "different and improved" formula to MUR and seems impressed http://www.teapartybeauty.com/2015/06/freedom-makeup-is-here-review.html/#
She also mentions about their lipsticks "The Freedom Makeup formula and quality is a lot better than the MUA ones, and slightly better than the MUR ones, I tested and put them to the test when I was off work on Friday. They last pretty well, but as with most lippies that aren’t matte they will need reapplying after food or a lot of drinking/talking.."

    All Freedom lipstick swatches: https://shaunajb.wordpress.com/2015/07/01/freedom-makeup-pro-lipstick-collection-swatches/

Single eyeshadows: http://www.chocolateandlipstick.com/2015/06/freedom-makeup-london-mono-eyeshadows.html "...the Freedom Makeup London mono eyeshadows, especially the shimmers and metallics, have a lovely and smooth textured formula that has long lasting longevity, best with primer though unnecessary, does not crease over any period of time, does not smudge, or budge, and throughout the day, stays as vibrant as when first applied. To be perfectly honest, I was beyond impressed. I just wish there was more mattes in the neutrals and brights, as well as more duo chromes as opposed to the single."

About Pro Blush Palette in Peach & Baked (assume it's similar to the freebie bundle item - though it has an illuminator as well): this reviewer says http://www.flutterandsparkle.com/2015/06/from-creators-of-makeup-revolution.html "...When compared to the Makeup Revolution Ultra Blush and Contour palette in Hot Spice, the shades are very similar, so I would say that if you already have the Makeup Revolution version, you won't need both".
