what do you think?

We have enough deposit to buy our 1st home but we have to move house by end of the month due to change of job but within the same healthcare industry. We will be renting in the first instance so we get to know the area before buying.

My questions are these: : Will the credit check they do during rental process/application affect our chances of getting a mortgage, say within 6 months of renting?

If yes, how long should we wait before applying for mortgage?

The experts on this forum or those with a similar experience should please help throw light on my questions.

Thanks.

Credit check done by estate agent is not the same credit check done when you apply for credit, it won't affect anything so no worries.

A couple of credit searches during the mortgage process shouldn't be an issue.
