Changing job after being accepted for a mortgage

Hi
I wonder if you can help.
I'm looking to get a mortgage with my partner, I am currently in employment and keen to get the ball rolling, however when we buy the house we would be relocating from Hertfordshire to Gloucestershire. I'm not sure how would be best to go forward from now as if I apply with my current situation and be accepted I would have to leave my current job when we got the house as it is too far to commute. However I was wondering if it is acceptable to apply for new jobs whilst everything is going through or if it would affect completion.
I am a first time buyer, we have our deposit and know what we are looking for, I'm just not sure how people usually do this as obviously the new job I would need to be in at least 6 months to pass probation period. Which would mean I would have to move there and get a job and pass probation for 6 months before I apply, or can I go ahead and apply now knowing that I will have to get another job when we move to Gloucester.
Many thanks for any help in advance

You will struggle to get a mortgage at all if your current employment is in Hertfordshire and you're looking at properties in Gloucestershire.
Is your partner's income enough to secure the mortgage alone?
Edit: just noticed that she's also in Hertfordshire with you. You need to engage a Broker, this will not be straightforward.0 -
So am I right in thinking they would be looking at where the location of your employment is in relation to the house you plan on buying?0
-
And in answer to your question no his employment would not be enough to cover it.h how do people usually do it?0

We were intending to go via a broker regardless, however can you elaborate on what you mean by not straightforward. Thanks0

Yes, underwriting a mortgage will consider where you work and where you wish to purchase. If the commute is not within reasonable or realistic limits, then the lender may question your motives for purchasing such a long distance away.
Have you considered moving jobs to the new area and renting initially?0 -
Hi, yes this was our back up option, it's just a bit of a pain because it's going to delay our initial application which is a shame0

Some lenders' plausibility checks are a little less vigorous than others. A broker will know who to avoid.I am a mortgage broker.
