Should i were a suit jacket to this interview?

Morning all, this ma come across as a silly question so just some quick vies would be great.

I have a Job interview this afternoon within the same company I would for but a different department.

I have been advised by a friend of mine that works in that department that the interviewer will be looking at my dress i.e. so wear a suit. Now i'm not sure if I should were the suit jacket or not.

only reason being because I do already work here, and know a few people in the interview already.

Im under the impression that they were watching to see if I would turn up in my normal work clothing witch is of Couse dirty given the nature of my current role where.

So the question is suit jacket or just the shirt and tie?

Wear a suit. But for Gods sake don't have them ask you to differentiate between were, where or wear. ;)

A good rule of thumb is to wear clothes to the interview that you would be wearing if you were doing the job - would you be wearing a suit everyday if you got the job?
But if your friend has already given you a heads up that the interviewing panel are going to be looking at how you dress then it would be foolish not to wear a suit really.

Wear the suit, you can always take the Jacket & tie off: you can't put them on if you don't have them
  • I would treat the interview in terms of dress and attitude as if I was an external candidate.

How do they recruit those then? Smart dress interview also?
Sorry couldn't resist... I wish you the best of luck in your interview!

Wear the suit. It is usually better to be seen to have made an effort. You are trying to impress them. Smart dress is one way of letting them know you're serious about getting the role. There are only a few roles for which a suit wouldn't be appropriate, and working in the health and safety field certainly isn't one of them. Wear it, good luck, and fingers crossed they won't give you a written communication aptitude test.

Someone who knows you, the company and the interviewer has advised you to wear a suit. Why would you take different advice from anyone on here who knows none of these.
loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.

You don't just wear a suit jacket. You wear a suit.

If you are going to, avoid a 'slim fit' suit which, if you don't have the bodily contour to match the suit, looks two sizes too small. Like this.

Pick one that fits you, your frame, and which you feel comfortable sitting down in. You'll probably be seated in front of your interviewer, so you need to feel comfortable that way. Get someone in your family to look at you on a chair, as if you were in the interview, and critique your look. Get them to photograph you and let you see how you look.

Pick everything you wear that day from natural fibre, breathable fabrics, etc.
