right to buy mortgage

Need abit of advice please, we tried to get a mortgage back in oct 2012 which was declined due to me having outstanding debts on my file (no ccjs but defaults)
I paid all this debts off last april after an insurance payout, and we are now looking at trying again, unfortunately the house has risen by 50k since last valuation!
After our discount we can buy it for £128k but here is the issue, i am self employed and took a year off last year due to illness, my husband left his job due to circumstances worked for an agency, got another job but left this in april due to working too many hours, now back on same agency, he has had no break in his income (he is a hgv driver so will always get work) but is there any point in even trying to get a mortgage while working on agency even though its long term?
If so does anyone recommend a mortgage broker who may be able to help us?
thank you

agency can dump you with no noticeDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0
