smith and lawson student loans etc

hi,
Not sure if this is the right place to post this but here goes!....

smith and lawson the 'debt collecting' arm of the student loans company were very rude to me on the phone a day after i came home from hospital having had my baby.
I know they are notoriuos for being difficult but to appease them i duly sent my copies of bank statements by recorded delivery on 30th july. i have just checked online at the tracking of the letter and my bank charges one and its not been signed for yet??!!

so, is this because a po box wont be signed for? or they just refuse to? and what to do now ring them up and moan to them like they moaned to me? I dont want to get another threatening letter or phone calls , any advise gratefully received?! i can of course produce the recorded delivery proof to show them but its starting to make me very cross.....

Yep. Last time I sent something 1st class recorded delivery to the SLC the Royal Mail took 8 days to deliver it to Glasgow.

No need to send to any PO Box regarding arrears, ever.

I always sent all my correspondence recorded (even if replying to a SL&Co letter) to:

    Student Loans Company Limited
    100 Bothwell Street
    Glasgow
    G2 7JD

And address/refer to them in the letters as that as well. I never mention Smith Lawson & Co. Eventually they realise that you are aware that they are just a 'pretend' firm of debt collectors, and they start dealing with you directly as the SLC again.
