  • It is in the deodorant, a yellow, build up? There is a product called Deo-Go on Amazon that works well (Muritic Acid I think), you spray a few drops on, & leave for a few minutes, then stick in the normal wash. May take a second treatment, but works, and the fabric is unharmed. The "o" ring on my sprayer degraded on my second bottle, which was interesting...

Muriatic acid is hydrochloric acid!! No wonder the o ring disintegrated!

Deodorant build up will be a combination of alum salts, perfume and whatever else is used to make it, so yeah, an acid solution is an idea - acetic acid (vinegar) will probably be a safer and cheaper option.

For my bra, vests and undershirts I use a proprietary pre-wash spray (I prefer Shout) and then throw them into the rest of the wash using Zoflora in the wash drawer with the washing soda, limescale preventer and detergent and another dose of Zoflora in the conditioner drawer with white vinegar.
 Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway...

Soak the armpits in white vinegar before washing, make sure deodrant is bone dry before putting on top (use hairdryer on cool if in a rush). I used to have this problem and since doing these two things, I've not had an issue since. I've even used malt vinegar at a stretch if I've run out of white and the shops are closed :)

I use the astonish bar soap stain remover - I wet the armpit , rub it on , give it a rub / scrub together then chuck in to the machine. But as other have said it can be down to the deodorant build up.
