I'm coming to the end of a year off from glitch/bargain/coupon/APG/whatever shopping. Self-imposed as we had a stash of items that would rival Henlans and, one day, I looked at it and the latest bag of shopping in my hand and it clicked that if I continued at the rate I was going, we'd never make a dent in the stash, it would just grow and grow.

For instance, it takes the two of us about a week to get through a bottle of shower gel. I was averaging bringing about 6 a week home from various shops. It just wasn't sustainable. Instead, we've spent a year living on about a tenner a week for essentials. The savings have funded a wedding, honeymoon and my recent five-months without work.

However, with a depleted stash, I'm dipping my toe back in the water, although I'm just reading for now, I've not done any shops. And asking questions, of course!

Have carried on collecting Tesco Clubcard points though!

I see there's been some changes round these parts... (although I've been lurking/watching you all so I've lived through the changes with you)
