Holiday tip for those going abroad, rather than take a handful of foreign socket converters, take one converter and a multi-socket extension lead.
That way, you don't lose converters by leaving them in the sockets when you come home and you don't have to search around your hotel/ apartment room to find spare plug points.
Aside from not plugging too many high wattage items in at the same time, it is a far easier solution.
That is what I do - take 2x converters and 2x 4-gangs.
Take lightweight ones with a 0.5 or 1m lead - Poundland sell them (for £1) although nowadays they are 3-gang (they used to sell 4-gangs).
Also, a lot of phone chargers have foreign prongs you can swap for the UK ones - I know Blackeberry chargers (micro USB) do, so I take a few of those with the foreign prongs so they plug straight in without a converter needed. Being micro USB they can be used for most phones and tablets (except Apple)
Got a few here last year - http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B004XKG7NM although they were only £3 or so at the time.0 -
