Thanks for that Senior Paper Monitor. Within the wording of our mortgage offer with the post office it suggests that the first payment will be on completion date. i will re-read and double check that then. At least we've planned for it to be taken out!!.

Hi doryfish, no apology needed it's an open forum with people being very kind and giving advice on what they think is right, I am sure as has been suggested that some lenders differ with their way of doing it, so if anyone knows about Aldermore then great - if not I'll check the offer when I can get to it
(currently cat-sitting at brothers house for the week so being impatient to get to the post lol)
