Deposit replacement warranty

Options
Hi, I have just heard from my letting agent that the company i took out a deposit replacement warranty with has gone into liquidation (they knew about this in february) they now want to talk to me about a deposit. ( i have been in the flat for over 2 years without incident) why would i be liable for this if its not my doing?

look at it from their point of view - effectively you now haven't paid the deposit. Of course they want a replacement.

I can see it's frustrating because it's not your doing, but it's not their doing either, it's just one of those rubbish things. Maybe you might be able to claim something back from the warranty company or whatever compensation scheme there might be? (Probably not, I suspect, but worth a look).
