Hello,
I have two batches of bread pudding in the oven as there was quite a bit of bread unexpectedly left over. I would like to freeze half of it but do not know if it works as usually it goes in a flash so any help would be appreciated. It is bread pudding and not bread & butter pudding which I know does not freeze well.
Thank you and also thank you for this thread which is really interesting and helpful

Thank you Suki, :T
One lot went, still hot, within the hour and the others I vacuum sealed, dated and chucked in the freezer. Such a cheap way of using up bread and makes a lovely pudding heated up and with a bit of custard or popped in a lunch box, so very filling."Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety". - Benjamin Franklin0 -
If I don't freeze I'd eat it all. Wrap in tin foil and oven cook from frozen, its perfect. The microwave leaves it a little soggy... I mis read your post I freeze bread and butter pudding and it's amazing reheated slowly from frozen on a lowish heat for 20 to 30 minutes.0

when we were kids, the local bakers used to sell bread pudding layered in pastry and jam - was a penny a slice. Cant mind the name of it but I will never foget it, was our saturday treat, all warm and scrummy
Edited, name just came to me, for some unknown reason it was called Nelson - no idea why0 -
Another name for it was Chester cake Suki and in Dublin it was called gur cake....no idea where either name came from.
