money/moral/friendship dilemma?

help?!?

I order 70% of my shower gell/shampoo/soap through avon. Now i used to do this through my sister (rep) however she doesnt work for avon anymore so i started ordering from a friend/work colleague. Now since finding quidco i can get 15% back and usually free delivery using an emailed code from avon or a code found on this site. Now i usually buy 1 or 2 cheap things from my work colleague in order for her to get some commision but when i am doing my bulk buying i do this online and get things cheaper.

However the new brochure is out with her and the old one is still running online.. the new one will kick in at the end of august online. In work they are all saying how there are great offers in this new one (there are loads) and how most are spending £30+. Now i have had a quick look through and if i get all what i need plus 10 xmas gifts my order will come to £25 plus i am ordering from the old book online which is £10.

What should i do~
1) just order the old book (£10) online do the remainder through the work colleague?
2) order a small amount <£5 from my work colleague and the rest online (large order £25)?
3) order it all online and get my quidco cash back (£10 order and large order £25)?

help?!?

  • At the end of the day your work collegue is just that - a work collegue.

She works for her main income and the Avon is an added bonus for her just like quidco is for you.

Each man for himself (or woman) order via quidco.

Do you think your workmate cares about your debt more than hers? I think not.

(reading that back it sounds really harsh but i think you know what you WANT to do) :p

Could you tell a little white lie & say your sis is doing it again so you're gonna order from her?

It'd be a pity to miss out on the quidco - the cashback'll soon start to add up to a tidy sum.

I'd have gone for option 1 or 2 if it was still your sis but as headoutthesand says it's a workmate so option 3 for me.

just be honest and tell her about the quidco thing, if shes a real mate she'll understand, if not then she'll have to deal with it - dont make it your problem. You'll be fine. ;)
I never missed a payment :T , I paid off all my credit cards :T , I paid of all my loans :T , i have a work mobile :T - but am now "medium" credit risk
  • I agree with all those above. Charity begins at home(that sounds terrible), but let other people who are less careful about their money give it to your colleague. Anyway, if everybody else is saying how good these deals are, she'll make enough money. It's not as if you're starting to do the catalogue in competition with her.

Hi PAP. You're a sweetie for being so sensitive to her! After all she probably finds the commission really handy.

However - if she's working for extra money then she might well have money worries herself and given the same situation then she'd probably put herself first.

If it were me, I would go through QuidCo. I wouldn't feel obliged to offer any explanation but if pressed and if the colleagues aren't particularly 'close' to me I would tell them about QuidCo.

But if they are close and/or I didn't want to rock a good 'boat' then I'd just say I didn't want anything right now, or some such small fabrication! :D

By the way - it'd be interesting to see how many people flocked to QuidCo if they knew about it!

to be honest i dont want to go to her she has everything i havent and she critasies me with everything (mostly my weight). I have worked out the costs and it will be around £39 so i am definatly not buying it from her, thats nearly £6 cash back :D also i dont want to lug 30+ bottles of stuff home with me on the bus ~ no thanks

just working out if it will be cheaper to split my order in two and get some free gifts from the old book as well as saving money

Crikey - from what you just said I wouldn't touch her with a barge pole then if she makes you feel like that. Do what's right for you.

QuidCo all the way then PAP and don't give it a second thought!
