transfer out of lgps

Has anyone had a recent transfer out of lgps ? How did it go ? Just interested. Mine recently told me I could transfer my avc fund out now if I wanted. Aren't considering transferring the db part but just wondered how they were valued.....

An AVC is just an amount of money invested in the funds you (directly or indirectly) chose so it's value is simply that, the current of the fund.

It doesn't have the same complexities that the DB valuation has.

The recent changes mean that all DB schemes have to let you transfer them out totally sperately from the DB scheme.

You may want to check whether you want to take your AVC. If taken with your LGPS then you should be able to draw the money tax free. If taken now barring the first 25% you will be taxed at your marginal rate.
