Using 'Private Parking Appeals'

Hi there,

I hope someone can give me some advice please. I was (as part of my job) visiting a student in an NHS setting. She was having bit of a tough time, so I was with her quite a while. I understood parking at this particular NHS clinic to be free. few weeks later got a 'invoice' from private eye for overstaying 12 mins - it was apparently free parking for 90 mins, no payment option.

I contacted PE, with queries relating to could you send me an exact copy of the terms and conditions that were relevant to that parking area. She gave them to me over the phone, nothing in writing. I then asked on what grounds do you see this 'invoice' as legal and just - she said I can't answer that, but if you write in we will respond. She told me to email on an appeals form. When I queried the discount time she said she would extend by another week.

This was sent a week ago and still I haven't heard anything. To be honest I really dont have the time or energy to appeal this, so my question is has anyone used the 'Private Parking Appeals' company and is this a good option?

many thanks Jane

There will have a job connecting this to Beavis. A social worker visiting a NHS facility overstays, and the parking contractor, employed by or with the consent of the NHS provider, tries to penalise the miscreant, has the world has gone topsy turvey?

Is there no way you can pay it and bill the landowner?

its Parking Eye, not private eye

if you use PPAL , they will charge you, some of the regulars on here run it, so its considered very good

you do get the odd complaint about them , as you do with any company

I would have thought you could get this cancelled by reading the NEWBIES sticky thread and appealing, plus complaining to the landowner and insisting on a cancellation of this invoice, this would be free , as is the advice on here

PE have 14 days to acknowledge your appeal and 35 days to respond, so why you think a week is long enough is beyond me ! (have you any idea how many appeals they get a week ?)

they issue thirty THOUSAND court claims a year, your appeal is a drop in a very big ocean

Wow thanks for that quick response! - Sorry 'Parking Eye' silly me :-)

Seems mad that the amount can go up before you have the ability to consider all the options, if it takes so long to reply. They certainly have some annual turnover!

How can I find the land owner, there were several shops as well as the clinic I was visiting there?
Also sorry where is the NEWBIES thread?

    Thank-you

its an "early bird" discount, a tempter to make you think you are getting a bargain, whereas in reality its an extortionate full fee reduced to a still extortionate lower fee if you are daft enough to pay it (a sc@m)

as for landowner details, you ask the shops who own it, ask the clinic where you ahd your appointment - speak to the practice manager, not the lackey , also google the site name, search this forum using FORUM SEARCH and keywords to see if the site has come up before and details posted , all manner of ways of achieving the managing agent or landowner details

or you pay the Land Registry for the details, your choice

go to the top of this parking forum, about 3 or 4 threads down you will find the NEWBIES sticky thread (stuck to the top of this forum)

please read it, several times , its free and has a wealth of info, but is daunting at first

The clinic will tell you who they pay the rent to, and you can also ask at the shops, ask the council if they know, or try googling, lots of information here

Send a copy, but appeal to parking lie as well. Don't rely on the landowner cancelling this so don't miss the appeal deadline.

Use the appeal template in the NEWBIES thread exactly as it is.

Never ever 'phone a parking company.

  • Hi,
I am wondering if anyone can help with Private Parking appeals.
I submitted my appeal enquiry 9 days ago and paid the required fee by Paypal immediately. I have the Paypal receipt confirming I have paid. I have heard nothing from them and am starting to worry that I have been ripped off for an additional £18 as well as the parking charge.

The confirmation email and the website say to contact them if you have not heard anything within 3 working days. I have emailed multiple times and have tried calling them. No one ever answers and you get an answering service, I have left multiple voicemails but there is has been no response to these or my emails.
I am starting to get worried as the time frame to appeal is running out, I have until 15th July.

Has anyone else had issues with contact form Private Parking Appeals?

Does anyone know if there is any other way to get in contact with Private Parking Appeals.

Any help anyone can give is appreciated
