what do I do first?

Hello
this is my first time on this website and I'm really hoping to get some sound advice. I'm 35 and desperately trying to become debt free. I've accumulated debt over the last 10 years (some of it from being a student and some of it down to just carelessness & being frivolous). I've got an overdraft on my current account and so essentially when I get paid I'm never in the black and my salary goes on my overdraft. I've also got a credit card with approx 2.5 grand on it - I haven't used it for ages and am just making the payments. (I've also got a student loan that I keep deferring which is about 6 grand)
Which do I pay off first? Should I not worry about the overdraft and just pay as much off on the credit card as possible and then try to get my overdraft down.
I'm quite frustrated as even though I'm being careful neither seem to be going down and I'd really like to save. I don't have any money for emergencies or a rainy day.
any suggestions?
thanks

THe general rule of thumb is to pay off the one with the highest interest first, making minimum payments on the rest and then the next highest once the first is paid off.
