Hi all,
I have been accept for a mortgage , a full credit history search has been completed, but I now don't feel I had the best deal. I have not sent them any documents relating to my wages but I have had a surveyor contact me today. I did not arrange anything with them, as the house I am purchasing is a private sale. I have spoke to London and Country Mortgage advisor and he is getting back to me later today. I was wondering if anybody knows if I can still cancel the mortgage with HSBC? I have not paid any fees, but was wondering whether it will cost anything and is it going to seriously affect my credit history or I am I likely to get rejectedif I get another mortgage company search my credit history?

How has the surveyor contacted you if you haven't provided the documents relating to your wages, haven't submitted the full application, haven't paid for the survey and given them the go ahead?
Also, shoudn't the surveyor be contacting the vendor for access to the property?
If you haven't paid anything then it won't cost you anything to cancel the application. Also, you would have a credit search against your name but thats not the end of the world and wouldn't stop you from getting mortgage elsewhere.0 -
It was a fee free mortgage, and I told them to press ahead, but now I've had second thoughts because I've found a few products with better rates. Apparently HSBC provided the surveyor with my number and not the vendor.0
