Santander 'on the pull?'

Did I miss something here or there or has this option always been there?

Santander>Payments&Transfers>Pull money in from an external a/c.
This service allows you to make occasional deposits from a bank account (including external accounts) into your Santander account.

The service is only available if you have nominated a bank account from which to pull the money. To obtain a form to nominate an account, please call our Telephone Banking Service on 0845 600 4388.

Thanks

Alan

    You missed something....

Its been there for quite some time I've had my accounts with Santander for many years and that option was always there from the day I opened them.
Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both.

It's been there since I opened a Santander account: about three years ago.

The option will pull money in to a Santander savings account via a Direct Debit.

Thanks guys, I am obviously not as attentive as I thought!

Just wondering why nobody mentions it as another option to Tesco Saver DD?

It doesnt say it needs a saver a/c just shows on my 123.

    Cheers

It's been discussed quite a lot a year or two ago. Many people reported huge difficulties with the setting up of the DD. In addition, you are limited to 1 DD per Santander savings account.

If it pulls money from another bank account via a direct debit, does this mean you could give someone's account number and sort code and it would take money from their account and deposit it into yours? If this is the case, it's very dangerous :O

This could applied to any DD mandate you complete. Get someone else to pay your bills. ;)
