Student Council Tax Discount - Forgot to Claim

Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere /posted in the wrong area. Mods, please feel free to close this thread/refer me to others.

My husband and I moved into a private let in December (2014) and since then, I have been flat out trying to finish my PhD. I just realised that I forgot to claim our council tax discount. I believe we are entitled to a little money off because I am a student. I am still a student.

My question is: will the council apply the discount retrospectively and issue a refund to my husband who has been paying the full whack?

If you are a full time student, the answer is probably yes. Your husband should contact the council asap.
