Tent Recommendations? Aldi tent any good?

Hi,

Wondering if anyone can help with tent suggestions pls. Saw a cheap one in Aldi - around £30 - has anyone used these and formed any opinions?

Looking for a one/two person (small, lightweight to carry) tent.

We're not regular campers but did some camping recently and loved it. Are thinking of doing a long distance walk (30 days or so) in Europe - should be warm weather. Main priority is something which can be as light as possible to carry for this period of time, but also is reasonably rugged and has good waterproof abilities.

Also, one which is easy to put up for non expert campers pls!

Thank you!

Stay well away from Alidi tents.

How much are you looking to spend?

Plenty of decent, barely used tents on ebay. Go for a make such as Vango with a high HH - 4,000 or 5,000.

It will be thicker ripstop nylon and stand up to the rigours of being packed and unpacked every day and should have tensioning straps to prevent it snapping poles in high winds.

A £30 Aldi tent is good for a weekend at a festival.

Buy a cheap one and when it rains it will live up to your user name.
  • U can buy a dome tent which covers big space and offers tall peak height. As for the brand, I have some options for u, N.E.W. Tent, ALPS, Coleman included. Each of them has different advantages, maybe u can research by yourself. I had to give up my daily high tea after I brought one tent from Coleman..Also when u prepare a camping trip, it's essential to bring portable power-supply in case of power outage, maybe u can take suaoki solar charger into account.
