Heely-alikes for £20

Not sure if they are a national chain but went into Raid shoe shop in Coventry at the weekend and found they were selling a cheaper version of the very popular Heelys shoes for £20. Never considered them at full price but was suckered by these.

ps They also had a velcro version for £25.

Hope they weren't Cruz shuz. My daughters wheels wore out after a few weeks and we have been unable to get any replacement ones. Website doesn't have them, they don't answer their phone and they don't reply to emails.

  • We've just bought some brand new genuine Heelys for our daughter as a birthday present - they do seem well put together but incredibly heavy for trainers! We paid £45 on Ebay - there were plenty of cheaper options listed but most had retractable wheels and I didn't think they'd last too well.

She couldn't make up her mind whether to have the Rebel (two wheel) or Bliss (one wheel) style, so we got her the Bliss version which is supposedly harder to learn but more fun - she hasn't given up on them yet!

She wasn't really bothered about whether or not they were genuine Heelys, but she absolutely insisted on having the pink and white stripey laces!

    :)
  • Be quick at buying them... you don't want them to sell out, as what would you do if you child didn't break their neck from these gimmick shoes????

Honestly, hardly money saving to be buying shoes that aren't practical or safe for your child.

Don't the shoes actually have a warning saying to wear a helmet and knee pads?
  • I bought mine in Febuary 2006 from the states at $60 were great at the time as nobody around where i live had ever seen them before. As usually now they have come to U.k the prices have rocketed up. After around a year of use i sold mine on ebay at beggining of this year. sold for £30 so i guess you just got to search around on ebay for a good deal.

Wow. Tell me, were you ever 7 or 8 years old? Did you ride your bike when the tyres were flat? Rollerskate on those awful skates you strapped to your shoes? Ride a skateboard down a hill sitting on it? Climb trees?

Or maybe you are suggesting that kids are not allowed to have fun anymore eh?

No, I think they were called 'Air'. They seem ok but with this being a shop rather than a website, I would just take them back if I had any problems.

Just found their website - http://raidshoes.co.uk/stores.php

I want these for me, not for my child.

On the contrary, it irritates me when others respond to overt attention seeking or trolling - it's far better to ignore such posts altogether IMO.
