If your not happy with how much money you have instead of moaning that other people should give you some of theirs do something about it.

Stop begging for handouts and go earn some cash

And what is it that you do Mr Charlie Potatoes?

Lol I had to Google that

Far from it..... I am not 'on top of the world' by any stretch, I am young, have debt (student loan only paid off last year 13 years after finishing uni), live very modestly.

But I do work hard and believe that if you want 'stuff' and that stuff is bought with money then you should not rely on state hangouts to get it - it is absolutely possible to go and earn more or find cheaper 'stuff' is you are willing to make the sacrifice and effort to do it.

I earn a good wage, but spend 2-4 nights a week away from home, often catching flights at 6-7 in the morning.

How many moaning about the evil Tories make that sort of sacrifice to earn the money they deem they deserve?

there are many people working full time plus some who are underwater due to not being paid a living wage.

The government has just cut the legs out from their in work benefits while stating that their employers will eventually get around to paying them an extra 80p an hour. Over a 5 year period.

Well ideally they should be paid more but who should pay for it? My skills, education, experience and graft dictate I should be paid x% more than median, min , average or any other measure - you increase any of those and mine will inflate accordingly.

Are you suggesting that I and others should be disincentivised from striving by having a policy that reduces my x% premium to give that to others who do not strive?

There's only so much to go around and what greece and UK labour showed previously is that if you give too many handouts there is no incentive for the recipients of those to strive and eventually the whole economy stagnates to the detriment of everyone

The fact is higher earners do pay a higher rate in tax and the fact is you benefit from that so begrudging hard-working lower earning families is hypocritical. Also you can't use the correct "your" but assume I'm on benefits? Wth am I reading? lol :rotfl:

If your arguments revert to picking at my typing skills on a kindle with autopredict then I think you've already lost

The first part of your statement is lost on me; I don't understand your point?

The assumption that I was on benefits was pretty foolish.

You begrudge hard-working families out of facebook jealousy, accuse them of not being
    family enough
    whatever that means.

You claim to be a matyr, did it all on your own, then admit you took CB while you could have it.

You admit you took advantage of lower uni fees, yet probably didn't bat an eyelid when they trebled.

You got a mortgage that if today's criteria were applied to your circumstances then I wonder if you would have been accepted.

And the only thing you can say to justify this me, me, me attitude is
Why should I pay more tax to make that easier for others

Yet are stumped when I point out that people earning over 100k effectively pay a rate of 60% tax when the tax free threshold is taken away. If higher earners were allowed keep the 10k tax free threshold, everyone would have to pay more to compensate. Meaning you benefit by higher earners paying more tax by you yourself having less tax to pay. Again why should higher earners pay a higher rate of tax to make it easier for you?

You have benefited from all these things and wouldn't be where you are today if today's circumstances applied to your situation back then yet you assume anyone looking out for the poorest working families and the children of those families are on benefits. Ridiculous.

Your post is so full of mistakes and incorrect assumptions that I'm not going to reply properly because it's just too painful. I commend you on your punctuation and grammar however and your excellent use of bold.

Ps i am not begrudging the tax I or others pay, I am ok with budget as is. I am not asking anyone for anything. The thing is disagree with is this concept that the poor are being squeezed to the benefit of the rich.

Disagreement is unhelpful without constructive arguments as to why.
Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.
