When we were in Glasgow for the Commonwealth Games we took our bikes. Glasgow Bike Station saved the day after I did *something* to break my dynohub. They made the bike rideable for £5!! I seriously cannot recommend Bike Station high enough - they also sold beer, which was great while we waited! It's only numbers.0 -
Ok I've done it!
Bought a second hand bike at the Bike Station, it's a Sirrus Specialized for anyone who's in the know:DThe mind is like a parachute. It doesn’t work unless it’s open.:o

excellent choice, one of the highly rated hybrids out there. I suspect you will see the weight difference immediately0 -
Thanks, there was a brand new bike that was same price but when I spoke to the staff they referred me to the Sirrus and said it was a much better bike for the money, it cost me £220 and I bought lights for it which they fitted free! Just off for a quick go round the block, although it was great to be able to try it out in their yard I really wasn't suitably dressed and had to put two elastic bands on my trousers,,The mind is like a parachute. It doesn’t work unless it’s open.:o

Not surprised you aren't enjoying it then, find a bike shop or someone local that will let you have a test ride on something lighter with better tyres, you'll soon want to change bikes
Eta doesn't matter, post just updated, see you have bought a bike0 -
