Lidl strawberries - chemical taste!

We still get quite a lot of our shopping from Lidl, and overall we are very pleased with the standard.
However, yesterday we bought a punnet of strawberries, and my wife tasted one and didn't finish it, saying it had a chemical taste. We do wash our strawberries before eating them, so I took one, and there was a definite chemical taint/aftertaste.
I still have the receipt ans a nearly full punnet of strawberries.
So, do I simply take them back to the shop and get my money back or take it further, because I am worried that something may be wrong with them.
A further bit of information, is that I have had the trots since eating the strawberry:eek:

Take them back to the shop and also send an email to Lidl with the receipt number and details of whats wrong with them.

That is exactly how I feel at the moment:rotfl:

Without going into too much detail (a slight fib there;)), my experience yesterday and today is exactly the same as when I took a pre colonoscopy preparation called "Moviprep", years ago - it has really cleaned me out.
I am keeping topped up with fluids though, because in this heat it would be quite easy to become dehydrated.
