Not sure CAB will get themselves involved due to the high risk to their reputation should it all go pear-shapped.
I may well be doing something similar to my last employer (but only if they do a bad reference), so will be following this thread closely to see what the outcome is.Never Knowingly Understood.

Thanks Patman99. I think that the most that the CAB will do is provide general advice. They are proving hard to get in contact with to ask, though I know that this is because they are overstretched.
Good luck with the reference. I wish that this was something that I didn’t have to get involved in!0 -
The law protects whistleblowing in that to be sacked for it is unfair dismissal.
That said, it is unlikely to help anyones career, outside of internal audit, to be a whistleblower and you cant take everyone to court/ET0 -
And are you sure that it is in "public interest"? Is it a regulated industry?ally.0

Yes agreed just wasn't sure about OP's problem as I read H&S executive as HR for some reason!ally.0 -
From my understanding I just have to believe that it is in the public’s interest.InsideInsurance wrote: »That said, it is unlikely to help anyones career, outside of internal audit, to be a whistleblower and you cant take everyone to court/ET
I don’t want a career in this industry. I’m hoping for a career in an industry with a bit more integrity; one that will at least listen to my reasons for doing this. May be it’s in cloud cuckoo land, if that’s where I’m living!
So how should I protect myself when writing this letter? I’m going to type it but it seems a bit extreme to type and print it from a public computer. I doubt the HSE will go to any lengths to try and trace me!0 -
You need professional legal advice - do you have legal cover with your contents insurance for instance?
You need this ASAP if your duties at work lead you to contravene any legislation - as individuals can still be held liable even when just 'following orders'.0
