Renewing insurance through Quidco

Hi all,
My buildings and contents insurance is due for renewal. My policy is currently with Barclays and they are also offering the cheapest quote (as a new customer). I would like to cancel my renewal with them and sign up as a new customer through Quidco as I can get £80 cashback. Does anyone know if I can do this or will they void the cashback, classifying me as an existing customer?
Thanks,
Derek

Hi there, I renewed my car and house insurance with Barclays through Quidco and neither tracked and the queries came to nothing.
So I won't be using them again.

Hi there OP
Don't worry, in principle thats fine. Before you lapse your old policy just check you can qte yourself online with quidco/barclays, as some firms don't let you get a new qte online for an address you are already insuring.
Make sure you clear ALL your cookies before buying the cover.
Good luck.

Dont know about barclays but I am in the process of doing the same with eSure ofr car insurance - £75 is "validated" at the moment so we will see if it comes through.
If not, the new policy is only £15 more expensive thanthe old for me so worth the gamble !0 -

I did my contents and buildings separately with Barclays hoping for 2 x £80, 2 months later neither have paid up...but they were still cheaper and one month after first payment they issue a £50 cashback cheque....
Can someone tell me how to do a 'query' on Quidco..I looked but just keep going round in circles.
Thanks. This post was created in an area that may contain nuts!0 -
my husband's bike insurance with bennetts was due to be renewed. We had been sent a renewal quote. I then realised that bennetts were on quidco so got a quote from them, it was £4 cheaper than the renewal quote and they gave £20 cash back so I ordered it through quidco. The £20 has now been validated. We received a letter from bennetts informing us that we had not renewed our policy so I dont think they have connected the two quotations. So it looks like you can renew your policies with the same company going through quidco...0

You need to do the query quick as Barclays say you only have 2 mths to a query and they also only allow one payment per household per 12 mths.
To do an enquiry click on earning then on the enquiries tab then click on contact us first on the list. I hope that makes sense.0 -
I did similar with Barclays this week, took new policy online one night then checked the day after it had tracked which it did. Rang up to cancel the renewal. Even if it fails to validate the new policy was cheaper anyway so I would have had to redo it regardless.
If it hadn't tracked I would have used the 14 day cooling off period so either way if you give yourself enough time to do the renewals you can always give it a go.0 -
I've done it with Barclays for buildings, contents and am just waiting for the £85 for renewing my car insurance with them!!!!!
If you think you are too small to make a difference, try getting in bed with a mosquito!
