Idiot's guide to kitchen downlights?

Hi,
I am having some kitchen electrics done and was under the impression that the actual downlights were included in the price quoted. Have just found out I need to supply them myself
I would be really grateful if someone could give me basic advice on what to get. The ceiling wiring has already been done and they are coming on Tuesday to fit.
I am wondering...
- I think they should be LED, is that correct?
- I am thinking of adjustable rather than fixed
- When I look at the downlights on, for example Screwfix - are the bulbs generally included or do I need to order them separately? i can't work out if the bulbs are an integral part and you replace the whole unit when they die, or if you buy a downlight unit and add the bulb
- is there a particular quality of downlight required for a kitchen?
- I need 8 - is it possible to get the fittings and bulbs for £100ish?
Thanks for any advice on what to get and where to source

Adjustable aren't particularly useful in a kitchen, especially if the ceilings are high.
Screwfix have fittings down to a couple of ££s each. Some packs include bulbs (generally will be the cheaper, less efficient halogens, though).
I would suggest these:
http://www.screwfix.com/p/lap-fixed-led-downlight-contractor-pack-brushed-chrome-240v-pk10/3347f
Which is a pack of 10 in Chrome, with LED GU10 2.5W bulbs included at £59.99. (2.5W isn't as bright as you may want, so I would suggest installing all 10, and also maybe upgrading 2 or 3 to a higher wattage).0 -
I bought 6 of these for my kitchen. Very pleased with the quality and good value for £34.50 inc postage. http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00AAFY6KA?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00
These are fire rated & also fitted with plastic screw retainers rather than the fiddly metal retainers.
I also bought 6watt GU10 led bulbs separately from ebay. Warm white, 60 smd, glass cover .. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251312667453?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&var=550266514233&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT very pleased with the resultsNo longer trainee

Take a look at ansell icage lights, should be able to buy for around £15 a unit. Add a LEDHUT bulb for around £3:50 and you have a unbeatable unit
I'd forgot about the pressed screwfix type, garbageHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure0 -

Do these seem ok? Can you recommend which bulb would go with these please?

You probably wouldn't want to use those with high wattage LED bulbs. The fire-proofing body could cause overheating leading to premature bulb failure.
You can probably buy that level of quality from Screwfix for about the same price and get bulbs included.0
