kingsize mattress

Hi, Just wondering if anyone can help me. I am after a kingsize mattress, possibly under £200. I have decided to go for a pocket sprung mattress as i have had a memory foam pillow before and i didn't get on with it (feeling too hot). Currently we have a orthopaedic mattress so after medium-firm. I have been to a couple bed stores and looked online but feel lost. I don't understand why a 1000 pocket sprung is £149 on one website and then £399 on another website. If anyone can give me any advice or point me in the right direction that would be great.

Thanks for your time

Have a look at John Lewis's mattress buying guide: http://www.johnlewis.com/buying-guides/mattresses-buying-guide?_requestid=672846

They also have some kingsize mattresses at around your price point, so perhaps have a browse online to see what they offer?

Are you looking at the same 1000 pocket sprung mattress for the price difference?

It's not juts the number of springs that influence the price, the quality of the fillings used, the weight of the fillings, tuffed or not, handles and even the quality of the cover (the tick) can change a mattresses price.

It probably wasn't the same. I just thought it was the count of springs that was important.

Argos do not have a 30 day money back guarantee with mattresses! Or any product IF it's be opened!

Bet it cost a lot more then this one......http://www.bedzrus.co.uk/catalog/mattress/memory_foam/double/Deep_Sleep_Silk_1000_Double_Mattress_6139_565.html?kw=&fl=1000&ci=56077065412&network=pla&gclid=CNWN2KiMycYCFQYOwwodTvsBTQ

Silentnight are not as great as they used to be.

"You know you're in safe hands with Argos, our products have a 30 day money back guarantee. If you change your mind, just return it unused, in its original condition with your receipt to any Argos store within 30 days, we'll either exchange it or give you a full refund."

Pinkypants you seem to be the expert around here.

I would very much appreciate your recommendation for a (kingsize) mattress for our spare bed. We have the base (wooden slats) but nothing on it as yet. Looking to spend under £200, a bit under would be nice! And whilst it will only get used a few times a year we don't want anything too uncomfortable as we might get grumpy houseguests!
    Open to your suggestions.... Thanks!

Sorry it's a tenner over budget, how old is the matt you sleep on? Could you have the new one and put yours in the spare?

I'll have another look when I have more time.

Ours is a proper pocket spring + memory foam, cost £600+ and is good for a few years yet. We're not ready to spend that much money again so soon. There are loads around the £150-£180 mark but I don't recognise any of the brands so am unsure...
    Thanks for looking.
