**Please Help** Marston debt & bailiffs

Hi,
I'm unsure if this is the right place for this post but here it goes.

I recently received a letter regarding a marston debt at an address I no longer live in so I've not been receiving any letters until now today I saw the person who lives at my old address and he gave me this letter and said the bailiffs have been to the house, he wasn't very pleased, but I know him so it could of been worse. I think it was for a parking fine last December that I wasn't able to pay. I also sent the council an appeal letter back in January and I didn't receive a letter back stating my appeal has been declined.

So I phoned up marstons enquiring about my debt and they told me it's more than doubled and has now been passed on to another team or company she gave me a team number (mobile no.) for the bailiff who went to the address as I found that out when I phoned, then told me she'll give me until tomorrow afternoon to phone her mobile back to arrange payment. She also told me they will put a marker on my car so the Police ANPR systems can find my car and it could be seized!?! Is this possible for them to even be allowed do this?

I can't afford what they want me to pay in full and this is definitely something I don't need right now. Is there no option where I can legally apply to pay monthly/weekly payments? Also how would she want me to pay, over the phone on her mobile doesn't sound right.

I'm really unsure to what I should do for the best so if anyone can give me some advice on what I should do, it will be much appreciated.

Others are better with bailiff stuff than I am, but in the meantime I would give National Debtline a call on freephone 0808 808 4000

They can not put "markers on police anything"
    That was a lie.
But that is how they work, threats and lies and thugs.

The Marston debt letter dated 23rd June was £187 now this other team has taken over she said it's now £422!! How can they charge me an extra £235 in just over a week? I had a quick look at the national debtline website ( thanks fermi) and it states,
£75 for being instructed by the creditor, carrying out initial checks, investigations and receiving payments.
£235 to cover visiting and entering premises and taking control of your goods.
They did not enter any premises and did not take no goods all they did was knock on therefore they shouldn't be charging me an extra £235 am I right?

Also thanks Marktheshark for the info on them saying they can put markers on my car:money:

I spoke to an advisor at national debt helpline she told me the best thing to do is write to the council who first gave me the parking fine and ask them to write off the debt as I'm in hardship and financial difficulty.
If they refuse that tell them you can pay a certain amount each week or month at best.
If they decide to refuse that also, tell them you want to pay the original fine NOW not the bailiffs fine.

I also told her about them trying to charge me an £235 just for turning up at an address without even levying anything as they never even entered the house and it states at the back of their marston letter 'an enforcement stage charge if £235 may be made IF the debt is above £1500" but it's not even close to that amount so that's a load of BS

So if they return to the address where the debt is and I no longer live there and demand for this, that and the other. I will tell the owner to let them know they're trespassing on private property and your harassing someone who has no involvement, altercations or reasons to be in this matter, or ill phone them personally and tell them. If they return which I'm sure they will

They'll probably have there hands tied behind there back right now, not knowing where I am

Power to the people! Hope all goes well and thanks for the advice :money:
